Shortly about me
"As long as I'm singin', there's a bell up in my brain that's ringin', makin' a crazy ding dong. And if this band don't desert me, then there's nothin' in the world can hurt me, long as I'm singing' my song."
-Bobby Darin
I built this website simply because I needed a single location for all of the shows I sing and play! Never satisfied with a single genre, I love to perform everything from traditional country music to Italian opera arias to jazz to swing, all over So Cal.
My father, jazz trumpeter and cool cat Billy Hunt, raised me on a steady diet of Woody Herman and the Thundering Herd, Tommy Dorsey and Elvis Presley, among many others. Of course, I didn't appreciate it until much later in life. I was very passionate about classical singing...and traditional country music too! I know, an eclectic combo of tastes.
I'm like that.
I moved to Missoula, Montana in 1989 and started my first band, Peter Trip with my dearest friends Nathan Thompson and Merle Travis Peterson. It sounds like a cliche, but the first time we played together, even the first SONG, the first PHRASE ("Blue skies stay with me now, cuz I can't stand the rain.")...I knew what I would do with the rest of my life.
Oh there's so much more, so many stories...maybe I'll start a blog. But for now, this Honky Tonk Princess says THANK YOU for visiting, listening and coming to a show. You make it possible. Seriously.
